“The kitchen is the heart of the home, and it’s the first room most people enter in the Botanic Cottage, so we knew that we needed a special kitchen table which would work in a 250 year old room, but also one which is to be used by community and education groups for lunches, cookery sessions, workshops, and much more. We wanted it to be made of Scottish oak, designed to fit a tricky space with pillars in the centre of the room, and simple enough that it enhances but doesn’t dominate the room. We wanted all of this just three weeks before the building was due to open – but Jo delivered! With only about a fortnight from selecting the wood to delivering two finished tables, Jo worked around the clock to deliver the highest quality work. We are simply delighted, and the tables have been commented upon by more people than we can count. They’ve been used almost every day. They are an asset to the building, and we hope that they will be enjoyed for decades to come.”
